Samenvatting
Een belangrijk deel van de premaligne en maligne aandoeningen van de vulva houdt verband met HPV-infecties. Het is van belang bij persisterende vulvaire klachten, macroscopische afwijkingen en oudere patiënten met vulvaire klachten altijd lichamelijk onderzoek te verrichten wegens de mogelijkheid van een invasief vulvacarcinoom. Met een multidisciplinaire aanpak in een gespecialiseerd centrum en chirurgie door een gynaecologisch oncoloog worden over- en onderbehandeling vermeden en verbeteren de overleving en de kwaliteit van leven. Deze bijdrage geeft een overzicht van voorkomen, histopathologie, stadiëring en behandeling van premaligne en maligne aandoeningen van vulva en vagina.
