Samenvatting

OSCE (Objective Structured Clinical Examination) is een toetsvorm voorgesteld in 1975 door Harden met als doel het meten van klinische competenties in een vaste setting van een student, een observator en een (gestandaardiseerde) patiënt. Bij de ontwikkeling van een OSCE dient een blauwdruk opgesteld te worden waarin de toetsvorm wordt gerelateerd aan de te meten competenties en leerdoelen. Om een voldoende hoge betrouwbaarheid en validiteit te verkrijgen, dient de OSCE te bestaan uit meerdere stations met ervaren observatoren. De OSCE speelt een belangrijke rol in het leerproces van de vaardigheden maar is wat betreft praktische haalbaarheid kost- en arbeidsintensief.
