Kortdurende desensibilisatietherapie voor hooikoorts

Samenvatting

Het hooikoortsseizoen is weer begonnen en de eerste niezende en snotterende patiënten melden zich. Bij sommige patiënten helpen neussprays en antihistaminica onvoldoende, maar drie tot vier jaar lang wekelijks prikken voor desensibilisatie is een opgave waar veel mensen tegenop zien. Naast de lange duur zijn er ook andere nadelen, zoals het risico op een anafylactische shock. Een recent onderzoek laat zien dat de drie jaar durende kuren ook in enkele weken te doen zijn, door direct in de lymfklier te spuiten in plaats van subcutaan.
