Samenvatting

In zijn commentaar op het artikel van de Galan et al. stelt collega Goudswaard dat de resultaten van de ADVANCE trial te bescheiden zijn om een beleidsverandering te rechtvaardigen (H&W 2008;51: 594-5). Deze wijziging zou onder andere inhouden dat er een systolische bloeddruk onder 130 mmHg wordt nagestreefd, dus beneden het door de NHG-Standaard Diabetes geadviseerde niveau.
