Samenvatting

De oudste zoon belde mij: ‘Mijn vader ligt in het ziekenhuis, en hij is er erg slecht aan toe. Hij is lichamelijk en geestelijk “op”, zoals dat heet. Eigenlijk wil hij sterven. Hij kwam zelf met die wens en uit die nu keer op keer, vaak huilend. Kunt u niet even bij hem langskomen? Ik zal er dan ook zijn.’
