Samenvatting

In hun POEM ‘Pulsaties voelen bij opsporing van perifeer arterieel vaatlijden’ komen Doorn-Van den Heuvel en Eekhof tot de conclusie dat de sensitiviteit van het voelen van pulsaties van de voetarteriën laag is bij vergelijking met de enkel-armindex. Zij vinden dit lichamelijk onderzoek daarom ongeschikt om PAV op te sporen en stellen dat de gelijknamige NHG-Standaard op dit punt herzien zou moeten worden.1
