Door de farmaceutische industrie gesponsord onderzoek heeft vaker als resultaat dat de nieuwe behandeling beter is dan onderzoek betaald uit publieke middelen. Dat is al eerder aangetoond en nu bevestigd in een analyse van 324 trials over hart- en vaatziekten die de laatste 5 jaar zijn verschenen in 3 gezaghebbende medische tijdschriften: Lancet, New England Journal of Medicine en JAMA.
