Samenvatting
Op de BMJ site is door onderzoekers naar luchtweginfecties veel kritiek geuit op het originele artikel van Van der Meer et al,1 dat vertaald in H&W is gepubliceerd.2 Wij zijn vooral verbaasd over de foute interpretatie van de gepresenteerde resultaten en de als gevolg daarvan ten onrechte sceptische conclusie over de diagnostische waarde van de CRP bij lageluchtweginfecties. Hieronder lichten wij dit toe.
