Samenvatting
Diagnostiek ligt in het hart van de huisartsgeneeskunde. Een diagnose is vooral nodig om een uitspraak te kunnen doen over prognose en behandeling. Anamnese en lichamelijk onderzoek vormen de belangrijkste bouwstenen in dat diagnostische proces.1 Huisartsen koppelen ruim 200 frequent voorkomende symptomen aan één of meer van de 400 diagnoses die jaarlijks minstens éénmaal voorkomen.2Evidence moet worden vertaald naar de situatie van de individuele patiënt. Dat is een ingewikkeld proces want de kracht waarmee symptomen als argumenten voor of tegen bepaalde diagnoses pleiten, wisselt en het symptoombeeld van een diagnose in het hoofd van de arts is individueel bepaald.
