Samenvatting

Achtergrond Impetigo is de derde meest voorkomende huidziekte bij kinderen na eczeem en wratten. Het is ook een aandoening die huisarts geheel zelf behandelt; slechts 1% van de patiënten met impetigo verwijst zij naar de specialist. Voor huisartsen is het van belang om te weten welk behandelplan in een bepaalde situatie voor de patiënt het beste is, vooral omdat de ziekte zich snel en gemakkelijk kan verspreiden, met veel last voor patiënt en omgeving.
