In dit nummer vindt u een herziene NHG-Standaard Hypertensie. Ter vergelijking is het voor de echte diehards mogelijk om die Nederlandse richtlijn te vergelijken met de herziene Amerikaanse richtlijnen die de JAMA eind mei publiceerde.1 Volgens deze richtlijn haalt bijna 60% van de behandelde hypertensiepatiënten de beoogde tensie (<140/90 mmHg). Thiazidediuretica zijn de eerste stap bij vrijwel alle patiënten met een ongecompliceerde hypertensie.
