Samenvatting

Daalde het aantal jonge moeders na de introductie van de pil van bijna 10.000 per jaar in 1965 naar 1900 in 1996, sinds die tijd stijgt het aantal tienermoeders weer (2300 in 1999). In Den Haag steeg het aantal in 5 jaar tijd met 22%. Het merendeel van de jonge moeders is van allochtone afkomst: bij Turkse meisjes baren 50/1000 15-19-jarigen een kind, bij Antilliaanse is dit 40/1000 en bij Marokkaanse en Surinaamse meisjes 20/1000. Autochtone jonge moeders zijn zeldzaam (2/1000).
