Samenvatting

Het proefschrift beschrijft een onderzoek uitgevoerd in de periode 1989-1991 naar de incidentie van hartritmestoornissen (HRS) in de huisartspraktijk. Tevens werd gepoogd de voorspellende waarde van patiëntkenmerken, medische voorgeschiedenis en klachten en symptomen voor de diagnostiek van HRS vast te stellen. Voor atriumfibrilleren werd de voorspellende waarde van bovengenoemde variabelen apart nagegaan.
