Een visie vanuit de huisartspraktijk

Samenvatting

Omschrijving Onder context wordt verstaan: de leefwereld van de patiënt – gezin, werk, woonomgeving – die het kader vormt waarbinnen ziekte, ziek-zijn en medisch handelen zich afspelen. Voor de huisartsgeneeskunde vormt dit de verbinding naar een aantal kernbegrippen en specifieke taken. Ziektebeleving en het (on)vermogen van patiënten zichzelf te helpen, bepalen in belangrijke mate de aard en omvang van professionele interventies.

Vier prioriteiten voor huisartsgeneeskundig onderzoek worden geformuleerd in relatie tot de context: 1) afzien van medisch ingrijpen; 2) de betekenis van context bij interventies met marginaal effect; 3) gezin, ziekte en ziektegedrag; 4) weerbaarheid en zelfredzaamheid: patiënten met chronische aandoeningen. Dit maakt het beter mogelijk om in klinisch-wetenschappelijk onderzoek huisartsgeneeskundig relevante vragen te stellen en concepten te toetsen, en de typische huisartsgeneeskundige relevantie te accentueren.
