Samenvatting

In november 2009 organiseerde IVO een seminar over gameverslaving. Als je de verhalen in de media mag geloven wordt de deur van de verslavingszorg platgelopen door gameverslaafden. Helaas blijft de discussie rondom deze nieuwe “verslaving” aan videogames vaak aan de oppervlakte. Bovendien heerst veel onbegrip rond gamen. In dit seminar kwamen verschillende fabels en feiten over gameverslaving aan de orde. Sprekers waren Tony van Rooij (onderzoeker en promovendus, IVO) en Martin Reddeman (Research & Development, Novadic Kentron).
