In de endodontie is de desinfectie van wortelkanalen cruciaal, in de parodontologie en implantologie moeten de bacteriën rond wortel en implantaat uitgeschakeld worden en cariës wordt bestreden door de bacteriële activiteit te stoppen. Met door licht geactiveerde desinfectie zijn de gebruikelijke microorganismen in de mond te desinfecteren. Dat kan nu met FotoSan.
