Samenvatting
Steeds meer hulpverleners pleiten voor specifiek op psychiatrische ziektebeelden toegesneden vormen van psychotherapie. Rationalisering van de indicatiestelling op basis van psychiatrische diagnostiek, in het bijzonder classificerende diagnostiek conform het DSM–systeem, is niet alleen aantrekkelijk omdat indicaties voor psychotherapie dan zoveel eenvoudiger te stellen zouden zijn. Op dat moment behoort ook een rationele en doelmatige toedeling van zorg tot de mogelijkheden en in tijden van schaarste is dat nuttig en zinvol. Maar onproblematisch is het niet. Enkele aspecten van de problematiek die samenhangt met het pleidooi voor rationele indicatiestelling komen aan de orde.
