Abstract

Politici zien ons graag als autonome individuen die het eigen leven bewust vormgeven. Modern hersenonderzoek ondergraaft dat beeld echter. Het zou wel eens een behoorlijke prestatie kunnen zijn om jezelf überhaupt als individu te beschouwen. Hulp uit de omgeving is daarbij onontbeerlijk. Wetenschappelijke vraagtekens bij een politieke ideologie.
