Opvattingen over morfine onder het verplegend personeel

Samenvatting

Over morfine bestaan veel misvattingen, zowel onder leken als onder professionals. Bij deze laatste groep kan dit resulteren in onderrapportage van symptomen met mogelijk onderbehandeling van de patiënt tot gevolg. Bovendien kan onjuiste informatieverstrekking over morfine tot miscommunicatie met patiënt of mantelzorger leiden. Het is onduidelijk welke opvattingen het verplegend personeel (VP) in Nederlandse verpleeghuizen over morfine heeft.
