Samenvatting
Zoals beschreven in ons artikel ondersteunen wij het belang van tijdige onderkenning van het niveau van functioneren van de onderliggende persoonlijkheidsorganisatie ten behoeve van een nauwgezette indicatiestelling en zorgtoewijzing. Het vanuit de klinische praktijk ontwikkelen van efficiënte theoriegestuurde methoden en instrumenten en deze middels empirisch onderzoek te valideren is dan ook aan te moedigen. De theoriegestuurde profielinterpretatie van de NVM is hier een actueel voorbeeld van. Een dergelijke nieuwe methode verdient brede toepasbaarheid als de betrouwbaarheid, validiteit en meerwaarde ervan zijn aangetoond. Dit is onder andere mogelijk door een vergelijking met een gouden standaard. In ons onderzoek betrof dat de persoonlijkheidsorganisatie vastgesteld op basis van het Structurele Interview (SI) van Kernberg.
