Samenvatting

Een patiënt heeft een trauma opgelopen na een hondenbeet en mist na plastische, correctieve chirurgie een deel van zijn ringvinger. Hij heeft last van fantoompijn en paresthesie. Voor deze symptomen is hij bij verschillende specialisten onder behandeling. De patiënt kan om psychosociale redenen en schaamte niet volledig functioneren in het arbeidsproces. Veelal wordt de psychologische impact van amputatie van een deel van het lichaam ernstig onderschat.
