Samenvatting

De volkeramische restauratie is onstuitbaar in opkomst. Tandtechnische laboratoria laten weten dat al bijna tweederde van hun kronen en bruggen op basis van volkeramiek, zoals zirkoniumoxide en aluminiumoxide, worden gemaakt. Toch zijn de klinische onderzoeken naar deze materialen slechts een jaar of vijf jong. Dit betekent dat de patiënt hierover moet worden ingelicht en dat de patiënt zelf beslist of al dan niet voor volkeramiek wordt gekozen.
