Samenvatting
Volgens een lange traditie wordt spiervermoeidheid geweten aan de vorming van melkzuur. Sinds enkele jaren is deze theorie aan het wankelen. Dit is het eerste van twee artikelen waarin een overzicht wordt gegeven van nieuwe inzichten in de relatie tussen energiestofwisseling en vermoeidheid, en gekeken wordt naar de consequenties daarvan.
