Samenvatting

Hoewel er veel is geschreven over de farmacokinetische en farmacodynamische veranderingen bij het ouder worden en ook over de verschillen in farmacokinetiek en farmacodynamiek tussen mannen en vrouwen, komen bijwerkingen die hadden kunnen worden voorkomen veel voor bij ouderen en in het bijzonder bij oudere vrouwen. Schwartz (2007) loopt de huidige inzichten nog eens langs en geeft duidelijke aanwijzingen voor de toepassing ervan in de praktische farmacotherapie.
