In 2005 en 2006 zijn er verschillende Cochrane-overzichten verschenen over de beschermende werking van influenzavaccinatie bij ouderen (> 65 jaar) en zelfs een bewijsvoerend overzicht van vergelijkende onderzoeken bij alle leeftijdsgroepen.
