De ‘complexity theory’: nieuw perspectief op onderzoek in de jeugdzorg?

Samenvatting

Het onderzoek naar de resultaten van hulpverlening aan kwetsbare kinderen en gezinnen staat overal ter wereld volop in de belangstelling, zoals bij het congres van de European Scientific Association on Residential and Foster Care for Children and Adolescents (eusarf) van maart dit jaar, met de titel ‘Assessing the evidence-base of intervention for vulnerable children and their families. Cross-national perspectives and challenges for research, practice and policy’. Het congres werd georganiseerd in samenwerking met de International Association for Outcome-Based Evaluation and Research on Family and Children’s Services (iaoberfcs; zie www.outcome-evaluation.org). Het vuistdikke boek met de uitgebreide samenvattingen van alle presentaties (Canali, Vecchiato & Whittaker, 2008) is een rijk gedocumenteerd naslagwerk en zeer nuttig voor onderzoekers, beleidsmakers en hulpverleners die de actuele stand van zaken op dit domein willen leren kennen.
