Samenvatting

Theoretische achtergronden, praktische toepassing en globale ervaringen met betrekking tot een relatief nieuwe psychologische interventie voor het behandelen van paniekstoornis worden beschreven. Enerzijds is de interventie gericht op het falsificeren van de verwachting dat specifieke lichamelijke sensaties voorbodes zijn van een paniekaanval. Anderzijds activeert de interventie het zelfvertrouwen van patiënten dat zij opkomende paniekaanvallen onder controle kunnen krijgen.
