Fysiotherapie als aanvullende therapie bij veneuze insufficiëntie?

Samenvatting

Chronisch veneuze insufficiëntie is een veelvoorkomende progressieve aandoening. Belangrijke onderdelen van de behandeling van deze aandoening, met name in geval van ulcera cruris, zijn wondbehandeling en bandageren of het dragen van therapeutische elastische kousen. Inmiddels zijn er aanwijzingen dat oefentherapie als aanvullende therapie een positieve bijdrage kan leveren aan de behandeling van chronisch veneuze insufficiëntie. In dit artikel gaan we in op de pathofysiologie van deze aandoening en beschrijven we de grondslagen van de oefentherapeutische behandeling.
