Voor een beperkte passieve bewegingsuitslag (pbu) in de schouder zijn verschillende benaderingen beschreven, waaronder verschillende vormen van manuele therapie, elektrotherapie, actieve oefeningen en verschillende vormen van passieve rek. Wat de beste behandeling is, is niet vastgesteld.
