Samenvatting

Maria is een Kaapverdiaanse vrouw van 43 jaar. Ze woont sinds haar 13e jaar in Nederland. Ze is in behandeling bij de internist van het Delta Psychiatrisch Centrum in Poortugaal omdat ze besmet is met hepatitis C. Maria is bekend met terugkerende perioden van druggebruik, waarvoor ze enkele malen opgenomen is geweest. Ook zijn er psychiatrische symptomen: vanwege achtervolgingsideeën en het horen van stemmen gebruikt ze al jaren een antipsychoticum. Begin 2005 vraagt Maria steeds meer medische aandacht. Ze heeft allerlei klachten als spierpijnen, rugpijnen en vooral ernstige vermoeidheid.
