De strijd tegen ondervoeding in het ziekenhuis

In hospitals in the Netherlands is 25 till 30% of the clients at the moment of admission in a bad food condition. In the Amphia hospitals even 33% had sings of malnutrition. There are no data of policlinic patients. A check was done with a questionnaire based at the list of the national prevalence inquiry care problems. 1016 patients were included and 23,7% had signs of malnutrition. Based of this data a lot of attention for malnutrition according to a protocol done by a multidisciplinary team was started and now we realised a reduction with 12,7%.Special nurses with attention field malnutrition are appointed in the clinics.

Samenvatting

In ziekenhuizen in Nederland is 25 tot 30% van de cliënten bij opname in een slechte voedingstoestand. In het Amphia bedroeg dit aantal in 2005 33%. Van poliklinische patiënten is zeer weinig bekend. Door middel van een aangepaste vragenlijst, gedistilleerd uit het landelijk prevalentieonderzoek zorgproblemen is er een enquête gehouden onder 1016 poliklinische patiënten. Bij 23,7 % bleek er sprake te zijn van mogelijke ondervoeding. Op basis van dit onderzoek is er veel aandacht besteed aan ondervoeding op geprotocolleerde wijze door een multidisciplinair team wat gestart werd voor opname en heeft geleid tot een daling met 12,7%.Borging wordt gerealiseerd door het aanstellen van verpleegkundigen met aandachtsgebied ondervoeding.
