Abstract Geriatric rehabilitation – an exploration of recent literature

Geriatric rehabilitation is a relative new field in geriatrics, for which a real ‘state of the art’ still has to be developed. In order to get an impression of the current state of affairs recent literature was explored. In this article the results of this study will be presented. The specific features of geriatric rehabilitation will be emphasised and the rehabilitation process will be discussed, together with factors that influence this process. Finally, the article makes some suggestions for further research and gives recommendations that can be derived from recent publications.
