In 1984 startte de afdeling Epidemiologie van het toenmalige Instituut voor Sociale Geneeskunde aan de Katholieke Universiteit Nijmegen met het onderzoeksprogramma EVA: Epidemiologie van Voortplanting en Arbeidsmilieu.
