Samenvatting

Carpaletunnelsyndroom (CTS) is een aandoening die veelvuldig voorkomt (geschatte incidentie 1–10%), maar waarover geen overeenstemming over de etiologie bestaat. Als risicofactoren worden genoemd een niet-ergonomische belasting van de polsen en elleboog, een ziektegeschiedenis met n. medianus neuropathie, obesitas, het vrouwelijke geslacht, diabetes and reumatoïde artritis.
