Diep veneuze trombose en de bedrijfsarts

Samenvatting

Diep veneuze trombose is een ziektebeeld dat een paar maal per jaar door bedrijfsartsen kan worden gezien bij verzuimbegeleiding of op het arbeidsgezondheidskundig spreekuur. Door deze frequentie kan de bedrijfsarts weinig eigen ervaring met dit ziektebeeld opbouwen, maar kan hij deze patiënten toch goed begeleiden als hij op de hoogte is van het verloop van de ziekte met enkele regelmatig optredende complicaties, de consequenties voor de belastbaarheid, de inrichting van de werkplek, en de beperkingen die de behandeling met antistolling, niet elastische verbanden en/of elastisch therapeutische kousen kan opleveren.

Mw. M.W.C. Sandbrink is werkzaam als bedrijfsarts en opleider bij de bedrijfsartsenopleiding SGBO te Nijmegen, als bedrijfsarts bij Achmea arbo en verricht onderzoek bij trombosepatiënten.

Mw. D.N. Kolbach is werkzaam in Vlissingen als dermatoloog met aandachtsgebied flebologie. Daarnaast is zij actief als onderzoeker-epidemioloog B. Zij is in 2003 gepromoveerd op leg symptoms after deep venous trombosis.
