Soms gunstig behandelresultaat ondanks onvolledige reiniging

Abstract

Het doel van de kanaalbehandeling is om de wortel - kanalen zo goed mogelijk te reinigen en daarna hermetisch af te sluiten. Gemakkelijker gezegd dan gedaan, zo leert de praktijk. Het is immers een lastig karwei om nauwe en gekromde wortelkanalen helemaal tot de gewenste lengte toegankelijk te maken. Sterker nog: soms lijkt het wel of het apicale deel van het wortelkanaal potdicht zit. Toch is dat geen reden voor wanhoop, zo leert het volgende praktijkvoorbeeld.
