Die middag bezoekt Kay, 17 jaar, samen met haar vader de tandarts. In haar hand een envelop. Daarin de brief waarin de orthodontist haar tandarts vraagt om alle 2e premolaren te extraheren.

Na een grondige inspectie van haar gebit ziet de tandarts geen enkele reden om te extraheren en verwijst het verzoek van de specialist naar de prullenbak.
