Samenvatting

Een 64-jarige patiënte met diabetes mellitus in de anamnese krijgt heftige pijnklachten. De tandarts boort de verwekker van de pijn open, waarna pus afvloeit. Daar de klachten blijven en een lokale zwelling optreedt, wordt de kies enkele dagen later geëxtraheerd. In de volgende dagen neemt de bestaande zwelling in omvang toe. Noch de waarnemend tandarts, noch de huisarts vinden een consult op 'zaterdag' nodig. Op maandag wordt door de huisarts Clamoxyl voorgeschreven en ook de tandarts werpt een blik op de infectiehaard.
