In de endodontologie wordt regelmatig gebruikgemaakt van mechanisch aangedreven instrumenten om de wor telkanalen te reinigen. Voorwaarden voor praktische toepassing van mechanisch prepareren zijn eenvoudige bediening, compacte vormgeving en licht in hantering.
