Samenvatting

NEMESIS (Netherlands Mental Health Survey and Incidence Study) is het eerste longitudinale onderzoek naar psychische stoornissen in Nederland. Het ministerie van VWS gaf het Trimbos Instituut opdracht na te gaan hoe het stond met de geestelijke volksgezondheid in Nederland, met name het vóórkomen, het verloop en de zorgvraag die de stoornissen teweegbrachten. Omdat het een longitudinale studie betrof (drie metingen over een periode van drie jaar) was het mogelijk om causale analyses te maken van de relaties tussen de verschillende bevindingen.
