Samenvatting

In deze rubriek (PsychoPraxis 2001 p 88) signaleerden we enkele kritische kanttekeningen bij de diagnose posttraumatische stress-stoornis (ptss). Niet alleen staat de betrouwbaarheid van deze diagnose ter discussie, maar ook de maatschappelijke betekenis bij het gebruik ervan. Een begrip dat volgens feministen een erkenning inhoudt van wantoestanden zou wel eens het omgekeerde effect kunnen hebben: de patiënten zijn ‘gemedicaliseerde slachtoffers’ geworden.
