Psychofarmaca en zwangerschap : praktische richtlijnen

Abstract

Mevrouw Janssens is een vrouw van 35 jaar en gebruikt nu enkele jaren vanwege schizofrenie het antipsychoticum olanzapine (Zyprexa). Ze verlangt al sinds haar vijftiende jaar naar kinderen en heeft een vaste partner die ook graag kinderen wil. Haar psychiater heeft gezegd dat hij het in haar plaats niet zou doen en haar huidige begeleidster, een spv-er, is iemand die bewust kinderloos wil blijven. Wil mevrouw Janssens toch zwanger worden, dan moet ze zeker de eerste drie maanden stoppen met de medicatie, zo is haar meegedeeld. Als ze stopt met de medicatie is de kans op decompensatie groot, zo is haar voorspeld.
