Samenvatting

Bij sommige studies die verschijnen in de literatuur geloof je op het eerste gezicht niet wat er staat. Toch is het kennelijk waar. Voor dit nummer viel mijn oog op zo’n artikel. In het zakenleven heeft men het weleens over een glazen plafond voor vrouwen, en ook is aangetoond dat vrouwen voor hetzelfde werk in het bedrijfsleven minder verdienen dan mannen. In een heel recent artikel van de JAMA wordt aangetoond dat vrouwen ook een minder goede behandeling krijgen ter voorkoming of ter behandeling van een hartaandoening. En die verschillen zijn niet gering.
