Wat zijn de primaire preventiemogelijkheden bij lage-rugklachten op de werkplek?

Samenvatting

Rugklachten komen zeer frequent voor en kosten de samenleving veel geld. Diverse maatregelen zijn ontwikkeld ter preventie van lage-rugklachten; onder andere het toepassen van tilgordels, het geven van voorlichting over tiltechnieken en trainingsprogramma's. Op basis van de huidige literatuur wordt geconcludeerd dat tilgordels en voorlichting geen effect hebben bij de primaire preventie van lage-rugklachten op de werkplek. Mogelijk zijn tilgordels wel effectief in de secundaire preventie of behandeling van rugklachten.

Trainingsprogramma's lijken wel effectief te zijn bij de primaire preventie van rugklachten. Er is echter behoefte aan methodologisch sterkere studies naar de effecten van trainingsprogramma's en aan studies naar de kosteneffectiviteit.
