Samenvatting

Wij analyseerden drie factoren die een rol spelen bij fracturen en dislocaties van de cervicale wervelkolom en hun relatie tot de mate van letsel van het ruggemerg. De drie factoren waren de voor het ruggemerg beschikbare ruimte op het niveau van het letsel, de sagittale diameter van het wervelkanaal op de niet-aangedane niveaus, alsmede het Pavlov-getal op de nietaangedane niveaus.
