Samenvatting

Max Lauteslager haalt in zijn bijdrage aan de rubriek Forum scherp uit naar psychologen en psychiaters die zich bezighouden met of pleiten voor neurobiologisch georiënteerd onderzoek naar (de oorzaken van) crimineel gedrag. De auteur beticht collegae als Buikhuisen, Barkley en Doreleijers en mij van biologisch reductionisme, van het opperen van simpele oplossingen voor het complexe maatschappelijke probleem van de criminaliteit. Helaas beperkt Lauteslager zich voornamelijk tot commentaar op citaten uit interviews in de publieksmedia, hetgeen een nogal eenzijdig beeld opwerpt van de visies van deskundigen op dit gebied.
