Samenvatting
Steeds weer blijkt dat het voor een adequate behandeling van patiënten vereist is dat er voldoende aandacht wordt gegeven aan de sociale omgeving van de patiënt. Dit klinkt vanzelfsprekend, maar blijkt dat niet altijd te zijn. Veel psychotherapeuten kijken nog steeds vrijwel uitsluitend door een individuele bril naar hun patiënten. Groepspsychotherapeuten, en ook systeemtherapeuten, zijn wat dat betreft in het voordeel: zij zijn gewend voortdurend wisselend aandacht te geven aan het individu en aan de context waarin het individu zich beweegt.
