De congresfolder vermeldde dat cliënt en cliëntgerichte therapeuten zelf geen behoefte hebben aan harde bewijzen voor de cliëntgerichte benadering. ‘Hun ervaringen van succes en falen zijn hun volkomen duidelijk.’ Maar ‘maatschappij en politiek vragen om harde bewijzen voor het bestaansrecht van (cliëntgerichte) psychotherapie’, vooral als die langdurend is.
