Abstract
In de gedragstherapie worden leertheoretische modellen meestal ontwikkeld voor specifieke pathologieën. Zo zijn er voor de meeste As-I-stoornissen als het ware standaardfunctieanalyses ontwikkeld om het ontstaan en vooral het voortbestaan van probleemgedrag en klachten beter te begrijpen. Bij de behandeling van patiënten met complex disfunctioneren (veel klachten of probleemgedragingen, veel interpersoonlijke problemen, persoonlijkheidsstoornissen) is ook behoefte aan analyse-instrumenten om enige orde te scheppen in die complexiteit. Het neurotische-lussenmodel is een dergelijk analyse-instrument voor de leertheoretische conceptualisering van complex disfunctioneren. De analyses brengen niet alleen een zekere ordening in de chaos, maar bieden ook concrete richtlijnen bij de keuze van interventies.
