Een beschouwing naar aanleiding van Norcross en Goldfrieds Handbook of psychotherapy integration (1992)

Abstract

De stroming van het integrationisme in de psychotherapie wordt besproken aan de hand van het Handbook of psychotherapy integration (J.C. Norcross & M.R. Goldfried, 1992). Opvallend is dat weinig empirisch onderzoek is gepubliceerd waarmee de meerwaarde van technisch eclecticisme, theoretisch integrationisme en het gemeenschappelijke–factorenmodel boven monomethodische psychotherapie kan worden aangetoond. Voordelen van het integrationisme zijn vooralsnog vooral gelegen in de mogelijkheden voor onderzoek naar gemeenschappelijke factoren en voor kritische doordenking van vigerende theoretische modellen.

The integrative tendency. A review of Norcross and Goldfried, Handbook of psychotherapy integration

The integrative tendency in psychotherapy is discussed on the basis of the Handbook of psychotherapy integration (J.C. Norcross & M.R. Goldfried, 1992). It appears that outcome research in the field of technical eclecticism and theoretical integrationism is still lacking. At present, integrationism is mainly important for common factors research and for the critical rethinking of theoretical models that are operative in psychotherapy.
